Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 – PSP – Review

I’m one of those Naurto Fans like a lot of people and I’ve been playing Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2  So i thought I would give the 2ndgame to the test so it’s time to get dirty with the ninja’s.

Basics:

This time Naruto ACTUALLY has a story! I was amazed this time the leaf village awakens to an eerie temple that has appeared in town. That is rumored to destroy villages when it shows itself. This is where you and your clan get issued the task to finding the seals holding it to the village and destroy them. While on your way around the temple you encounter your fellow ninjas as shadows of them self’s. Upon beating them in battle you get to use them and their special abilities Such as finding Hidden ways to other rooms. This game follows a unique style of gameplay you are issues rooms that you fill in using battle levels, Slot machine Level, Health, and Shadow (Basically you pick the right shadow as the real person). Giving a lot of strategy on how to confront each level of the temple so you can take a rest or battle through. The game also supports a new Hero battle mode, A collection style mini game Heroes mode and a new wireless mode (Wireless Ad-hoc only a major let down).

Gameplay:

This game is all about the fighting very fast action neat ninja action when attacking people you use shock rah and take it from people when you have hit them. You can destroy objects and use them while in battle such as ninja stars and bombs giving the gameplay a lot more of an edge if you can’t get close to an enemy. Great all around combat here all about fast and furious style of gameplay.

Graphics:

I was very surprised on how great this game looked. It really does feel like you’re in the cartoon the game looks great on the PSP. All the characters look like their TV counter parts very detailed models. Levels are nicely detailed and with great detail given to the background scenes. Great effects when you unlock your full shock rah. You get a blue type of halo around you really does show the PSP can do a fighting game and do it well.

Sound:

The sound isn’t bad at all full audio from the cast of the show really pushes the story line in a good way. When in battles the sounds are pretty spot on. Not a lot of cheesy music here which is great. I really liked how they went that route and went with a voicing of the cast instead of doing video it really does make the game feel a bit more like your apart of the overall story.

Final Thoughts:

At first I wasn’t really going to even try it then  I thought what the hell I’ll give it a run and I liked it it’s very creative and really fits well with the whole show. It’s kind of pricy right now at 39.99$ but it’s a really fun game if you’re in to the whole Naurto crazy. Solid combat with really good audio. Only thing that really hurts the game is the lack of online gameplay it would have been nice to just play on-line with someone and battle. Other than that it’s not a bad PSP game.

9.4 / 10

Pro – Great gameplay, Good sound and graphics

Con – Pricy, Lack of online multiplayer
