The Simpsons Game – PSP

Recently I Got a PSP slim and i’m a really big fan of the tv show and movie so i got ahold of a copy so time to get to reviewing! 10+ year show will it work out to a good game or do we have another bad game with the same gameplay as before? Time to find out!

Basics :

The game is based off the TV show not the Movie that recently came out a nice change in most games that follow movies suck ass. I’m glad this game stuck toward more of the shows 10+ year past and cast then going with the movie plot and bring in new people with no back storys.

Gameplay :

It plays much like a platformer / puzzle game mostly you run around jumping from platforms to platforms using special powers That bart , homer and lisa and the family have. to help eatch other out. Solving puzzles is nice it popup a nice icon showing who is required to that action. controls are nicely done and shown on screen and nicely detailed.

Graphics :

The graphics are pretty damn good on a PSP it looks like the simpsons world you can run around thier home the detail is pretty nice even down to the family car in the garage. the game has a level for eatch of the family such as Homer and bart in an eatting contest and bart is helping. homer and bart again in the musum trying to deal with the bullies. eatch level is detailed pretty nicely. my only problem was the camera control was not very useful you can’t rotate it around you you hit it it centers on the point of view but sometimes it’s useless when you can’t see the places you really need to get to. The cut scene’s are perfect from the show nicely done and really does push the story really well and blends in great with the story and the game.

Sound :

This on a psp i would of thought hard because there really isn’t much disk space since it’s only a 2 gig mini dvd but they cramed it in thier. homer talking , bart making his smart comments , marge making her little nags and even lisa’s little humor it’s nicely done and nice and clean audio really well done and blends nicely with game.

Final thoughts :

I Enjoyed this game it’s not bad pretty fun and has a nice sense of humor witch a lot of games don’t have plus the story is pretty fun the game plays pretty good except for a few hickups here and thier (homer turning in to a Ball and falling through the world) Found that bug and i had to restart the whole level. The game isnt a bad game it’s not a perfect game but it’s better then a lot of license titles that have been thrown out in the last few years. personaly if you like the simpsons you know you already own it. if not then it’s worth the time to pick it up and give it a try.
