If you’re a Follower of the site you know I’m a major hunting game nut case. Sometimes good and sometimes some of the worst games I’ve ever played. Well this time we have cabelas outdoor adventures. First of the 2 hunting simulators coming out. Time to get dirty with this game.
Just like any of the hunting games you’re a new hunter who has to work your way up doing smaller game before going up to the elk and moose. You earn new weapons and new areas while progressing through the games pretty straight forward. I’m very happy that they went with the true hunting and fishing style simulator unlike last year’s games… Laser bullets? Are you insane? X-ray vision … its hunting it’s not Super fucking man! The last few games have been Dev by a company in Romania I don’t think even understand the concept of hunting deer. I’m so glad that this time the developer was someone else and took the game in the proper direction like it should have been.

Surprisingly pretty solid I had no major issues with the controls sneaking around and such felt normal and didn’t feel oddly like it did in Cabela’s Big game hunter 2010.

Some of the best graphics in a hunting game I’ve seen in a while cabela’s finally started updating its aging games with proper graphics. Last year’s games were all blocky and went Arcade instead of making the game look great. Animal animations are top notch and look great. They blend very well with the grass and trees sometimes hard to pick out where your prey is. I loved that because it was more of a challenge then running and bam there is the prey.

Animal sounds are awesome perfect spot on. You can hear a bear growling or a moose doing its call and each stand out. Stepping over wood making the proper sounds.

I got a little surprise the AI was pretty balanced. You could sneak your way up to your prey but if you made to much noise you would scare them off. Or rushing up and could cost you the hunt just like in real life.
The last few Cabela’s games I swore I wouldn’t buy another till they got their shit together and learned how to make another proper hunting game. This one is pretty well done but not perfect but it played well except for the fishing the game would have been perfect the fishing fells a little bit tacked on and kind of annoying. Being timed to fish sometimes required doing the area over and over until you hit the quota. Other than that I enjoyed the game unlike cabela’s big game hunter 2010 that’s being reviewed next. This one is all about being a hunter no arcade play. No shitty wobbling sights. Just pure hunting you get exactly what your paying for in this game.
Hello there, have you got a Twitter page that I could follow? Many thanks
