Contra 4 – DS – Review

I remember playing Contra back when i was 7 on my NES system finally a remake has came out and it’s time to get dirty with this girl

Game play:

You play as a commando in side scroller lots of enemies lots of stuff on screen popping up with lots of power ups.   This is the kind of game that you play and die and just keep on playing it to see how far you can make it.  The game play is so simple yet very rewarding and fun.

Graphics:

They look much like the old NES style of graphics and the older games fits well with this series the power us are each nicely detailed such as a fireball , laser and such  levels are nicely detailed and lots of variety  of enemies so you don’t get bogged down looking at the same enemy level after level.  Boss look very detailed. Water effects and fire effects are pretty well done especially on a DS

Sound:

Can’t really say much in this department it’s a Side scrolling lots of bullets and enemies on screen. You have a unique sound for your rifle and for bosses. Pretty basic in this area but not much really needed.

Final Decision:

Personally I thought the game wasn’t bad some area’s were a bit hard and the game is super cheap like 20$ or cheaper  for the price it’s well worth it it brings back a lot of memories of the old NES days and it’s pretty fun and I enjoyed it I might even have to play through it again.  It’s one of those types of games you don’t see often these days since the old days of the nes and the genesis worth the time to play this. This came could of been a perfect 10 i would of loved to have someone jump on WFC and play with someone.

Con – no online multi player , no old contra loaded as a bonus?
