Civilization revolution – Xbox 360 – Review

Civilization revolution is one of those games that is trying its place on the Xbox 360 This is the last game I got to play before the red light of death hit my 360 time to get dirty with this game.

Game play:

You can play 16 different countries such as the English, the Americans, the Russians, and Spanish each of the civilization have special ability’s you play through 4 time periods while in the course of building up your country.    You can play being a country of education or for technology or even economics you can build up your cities. Being rewarded with great persons and wonders and you can then build on to your city and bring more people in or convert cities over to your country. You can also go for the domination by taking out all the other countries capital cities and winning the game.  Giving the player a lot more free room to figure out what would you want to be a country of technology and reach Alpha Centauri or taking out everyone.

AI:

AI in this game sometime is dumber then dirt sometimes they’re so bright that when you become friendly they will start pulling army’s near the boarders and then get a special ability they will turn on you. Usually getting a special person in your city they will turn on you if you don’t release that person. I did witness an odd ai glitch when attacking a city my spy was attacking a city and was stuck in a limbo for 20 minutes till I had to restart the game.

Graphics:

Very unique style feels much like its brother on the pc but it looks great and all characters look great. Water looks great. Army’s are nicely detailed and the world looks great but this is also the bad point. When in a battle your army such as a tank can drive through buildings that glitch really pulls away from the game.

Sound:

The sound is pretty dead on when you declare war on someone you know it the sound hits a eerie  style of tone and you know that shits about to hit the fan.  The background music is well done nicely toned for when you’re building up till you are at war. The other civilizations tend to get on your nerves every few minutes asking for you to give up a technology if you don’t do this and the voices get on your nerves quickly.

Mutiliplayer  :

This game has the regular Multiplayer you would expect for Xbox live I really didn’t get to mess with it much but it wasn’t too bad.

Final Thoughts:

This game is really addicting trying to figure out a strategy for taking a city before they attack you. Trying to defend your lands while building up a nice economy. This game has a lot of reply ability since it’s got so many different civilizations you can choose from and each having their own perk really helps. Plus 2k is giving away a bonus soon that will give the game even more reply. This game is a good game for those RTS people it’s a great game. If you’re a fan of the series this is where you want to be.  I really enjoyed this game and played through it 13 times that’s how much fun I had with it trying to take over each country in a different way is always fun. My verdict is rent it if you like it buy it

9.3 / 10

Pro – Good Solid strategy, lots of reply

Con – battles are a bit buggy, annoying AI
